Modulation
Sample & Hold
Sample & Hold — takes a snapshot of a signal on every trigger and holds it until the next one.
Learn about it in Melody & chance: chords, arps and generative patches
How it works
Each time TRIG rises, the current value of IN is captured and output as a steady level. If nothing is patched into IN it samples internal white noise, giving a new random value every trigger — the classic “random bleeps” source.
Inputs
| IN | Signal to sample. Leave empty for random values. |
|---|---|
| TRIG | When to take a new sample — a clock or gate. |
Outputs
| OUT | The held value (steps from one level to the next). |
