Vowel
Formant filter — makes sounds say “aah”, “eeh”, “ooh”…
Learn about it in Filters: carving the sound
How it works
Three resonant band-pass filters are tuned to the formant frequencies of a human vowel. Sweep the Vowel knob A → E → I → O → U. Shift moves all three formants up or down together — down for a giant, up for a chipmunk — and the SHIFT input modulates it (CV Amt × 1 octave per 1.0) for a mouth-opening effect. The outer ring on Shift shows where the modulation has it right now. Works best on bright sources like SAW or SQR.
Inputs
| IN | Audio to “voice”. |
|---|---|
| SHIFT | Modulates the Shift knob. Try an LFO or ADSR. |
Outputs
| OUT | Talking audio. |

Knobs and switches
| Vowel | Which vowel (blends between them). |
|---|---|
| Shift | Moves all formants up/down, ±1 octave. |
| Focus | Sharpness of the formants — higher is more robotic. |
| CV Amt | How far SHIFT moves things. |
