Sampling
Granular
Shatters a sound into hundreds of tiny grains and sprays them back out as clouds, drones and shimmer.
Learn about it in Sampling & live sound
How it works
Every few milliseconds a short window (a grain) is cut from the source at Position and played with a smooth fade. Many overlapping grains blend into a texture. Size is grain length, Density grains per second, Spray randomises where they come from, Pitch ± randomises their pitch. In LIVE IN mode the source is the last four seconds of whatever is patched into LIVE.
