Drum Trio
Three synthesized drum voices: a kick, a snare and a hi-hat.
Learn about it in Rhythm: clocks, gates & sequencers
How it works
Each voice fires when its input crosses from low to high (any signal rising above ~0.3). The kick is a sine with a fast downward pitch sweep; the snare mixes a short tone with filtered noise; the hat is twice-highpassed noise.
Inputs
| KICK | Trigger for the kick. Try Clock 1/4. |
|---|---|
| SNR | Trigger for the snare. Try a Euclid or Sequencer gate. |
| HAT | Trigger for the hi-hat. Try Clock 1/16 or a Euclid with many hits. |
Outputs
| MIX | All three voices mixed together. |
|---|---|
| KICK | Kick only — process it separately (e.g. through Drive). |
| SNR | Snare only — great into Reverb. |
| HAT | Hat only. |
Knobs and switches
| Kick | Kick pitch — low for boom, higher for a tom. |
|---|---|
| K Dec | How long the kick rings. |
| Snare | Pitch of the snare’s tonal part. |
| S Dec | Snare length. |
| Hat | Hat length — short is closed, long is open. |
