Effects
Ducker
Sidechain ducking: one sound makes another get quieter — the pumping dance-music effect.
Learn about it in Effects & mixing: space, width and punch
How it works
Whenever SIDE is loud (a kick drum, a voice), IN is turned down by up to Depth, recovering over Release. Attack is how fast it ducks. DUCK CV outputs the amount of ducking so you can pump other things (a filter!) in time too.
Inputs
| IN | The sound to be ducked (pads, bass). |
|---|---|
| SIDE | The sound that does the ducking (usually the kick). |
Outputs
| OUT | IN, ducked. |
|---|---|
| DUCK CV | How much it’s ducking right now, 0–1. |
Knobs and switches
| Depth | Maximum reduction. |
|---|---|
| Sens | How sensitive to SIDE. |
| Attack | Duck speed. |
| Release | Recovery speed. |
