Switch
Chooses which of four signals goes through — the routing trick at the heart of modular.
Learn about it in Rhythm: clocks, gates & sequencers
How it works
Each rising edge on STEP moves to the next input, wrapping around after Inputs of them. The Select knob shifts which one is chosen, and SEL (0–1) picks directly. Changes crossfade over a few milliseconds, so switching audio doesn’t click. Works on anything: audio, melodies, LFOs, gates.
Inputs
| IN 1 | Input 1. |
|---|---|
| IN 2 | Input 2. |
| IN 3 | Input 3. |
| IN 4 | Input 4. |
| STEP | Steps to the next input. |
| RST | Back to input 1. |
| SEL | Picks an input directly: 0 → first, 1 → last. |
Outputs
| OUT | Whichever input is selected. |

Knobs and switches
| Inputs | How many inputs to cycle through. |
|---|---|
| Select | Manual choice (adds to the steps and SEL). |
Patches to try
- Two sequencers’ V/OCT in, Clock BAR into STEP: the melody changes every bar.
- Four oscillators in, S&H into SEL: random timbres.
